Google’s pairing with ASUS has really paid off. There is no doubt that the Nexus 7 has been a hit with both consumers and critics alike.
Having shown the market what a 7″ Android powered tablet can really do, it makes sense that Google will turn their attention to the Nexus 10.
Will Samsung be Building the next Nexus tablet?
CNET have been talking to a source who claims that Samsung are currently working with Google to build a top line premium 10″ Nexus tablet.
If the source is reliable, we can expect a “high end” device with an Apple iPad beating 2,560 x 1,600 display. Google have worked closely with Samsung in the past to build Nexus branded phones so it would seem entirely plausible that a tablet could follow.
The same source also “confirms” plans for a $99 Nexus tablet.
What does the Nexus brand mean to You?
I’m never too sure what to make of the Nexus brand being passed between manufacturers, how does this affect consumers’ views? Just because the ASUS tablet worked out, does that mean we should put our faith into a Samsung powered tablet?
I guess Google have the power to impose various design decisions and steer the overall functionality, whilst leaving the manufacturers to lend their build and component expertise.
