As expected, the release date is listed as August 28th.
This is good news for those of us who had disappointing experiences with the Google Play store last time round. I myself pre-ordered direct from Google when buying the Nexus 7 (2012) and was not happy to see people who had ordered elsewhere taking delivery of their shiny new tablet weeks before me.
Amazon have become the dominant online retailer for good reason, you know you’ll get it on time and their customer service routines are well rehearsed.
But this is also interesting because the Nexus 7 is the main competitor for the Android powered Amazon Kindle Fire. It was easy to see why Amazon neglected to stock the Google rival last time round, but it looks like they’ve changed their minds.
