Virgin have finally added KitKat 4.4 supoprt to the Virgin TV anywhere app. This means Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 owners can finally get access to the app.
I have successfully been running it on my Nexus 4 for the last week and it’s been working great.
I find it much easier to navigate around my TIVO box with the app. YOu can look at your current recordings, delete them, update series link settings, start playback, record from the guide, etc. You can also do all of this whilst out and about, although the remote control functionality seems to only work if you are connected to your local wifi.
I wasn’t able to stream TV to my phone, not sure if that is a compatibility issue or if I just haven’t worked out how to do it yet.
im a nexus 5 owner. no sign of stream from tv on my device either. however my rom is rooted. can someone confirm this without a rooted rom? thx
I’ve just had a look for the app reviews and there are some pointing out that it’s not working on their rooted device. But some of them are Nexus 4 owners and it doesn’t work on my non-rooted phone either so I’m sure it really helps answer your question.
Any Nexus 5 owners got streaming capabilities (or in fact any Nexus owners at all)?!
