Hi there, I am hoping you can help me. I want to load some photos onto my nexus 7 and view them directly on the tablet without using one of the OTG cable things. Is there an app or something that will let me load the photos on there (from my laptop using the data cable) and allow me to scroll through them on the screen in the same way as I would on my iPhone? Basically I want to show off my holiday snaps on a bigger screen, but be able to scroll through them and not just open them one at a time, which is all it seems to let me do at the moment. I tried Airdroid but didn’t get anywhere. Sorry if this is a really basic question, but I am stumped. Thanks everyone, Dawn :)
Dawn, hello. I am a newbie with this. I loaded some images from my PC using the data cable. I selected the images from the PC’ folder, opened the Nexus Pictures folder on the PC folder and copied the images into that folder. On Nexus, open Gallery, select one of the images and open it. Then you can scroll by touching and moving your finger to the left or right , in the normal way.
However, I would be interested in any recomendations of apps which do more than the above.
thanks pbhurst68. that really helped and i’ve now been able to do what i needed. i actually didn’t even know about the gallery app. so i went looking for it, did what you said and success! thank you so much. best wishes. Dawn xxx
The two suggestions I’d make are:
Alternate gallery app: QuickPics. Offers some additional functionality over the stock gallery app.
Dropbox: A great way of getting pictures onto your device, and also now has some decent gallery functionality built into the app. Read more here. So could prob solve both probs in one!
Please let us know how you get on.
Thanks Jez. QuickPics looks the business. I have Dropbox already, but only with limited storage.
thanks Jez, I am defo going to check out QuickPics. Thanks for the tip :)
