I was viewing a film through my TV using a slim port adapter to connect to the HDMI of the TV. Everything was fine, I had used it for many months in that way. I stopped the film and went for a coffee, came back and there was no sound just picture. Since then I have not been able to get sound out of that port on the Nexus. I have changed the slim port and HDMI cable and checked the HDMI socket on the TV by plugging in another device that works fine. That means it must be that the Nexus just stopped outputting sound through that port.
Not pligged in the Nexus does give full sound.
Any ideas please.
I’ve been googling around and can see a few people have had problems getting their SlimPort to work. Some suggest fiddling around with the HDMI cable etc but sounds like you have attempted that already. tbh mine worked with an old cable I had lying around, I don’t think it was anything special.
Someone else mentions their sound cut out when they received a call, came back when they got a text!
I don’t use mine anymore actually, it became redundant once I bought a Chromecast. If you can spare £30 and dont want the pain of sorting it out I would well recommend it.
+1 on chromecast. I’ve got two in two TVs and a third in an AV amp to get DD+ from Netflix.
UK chromecasts currently come with free content offers worth around £60, including a free 3 months of Now TV Entertainment, which includes GofT.
Jez, always worth checking for offers via the chromecast app now and again. They’ve recently done free movie rentals, even for my older dongles.
