Since my upgrade to 4.2.2 last weekend the 3 media players are unable to see any of the music sources on my local network. My bravia TV is able to play music from the NAS box where my music is stored but the Nexus does not display this.
Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this ? I have already tried the obvious of re-installing the apps but without luck.
Thanks in advance
It looks like 4.2.2 has broken a number of apps so it might be something that will have to be fixed by the devs. Are you talking about specific apps here, if so it can be worth looking at user reviews reviews on the Play store to see if other people are having the same problems.
Typically, when updates break an app the devs will get a new version out sooner or later, but that’s not a lot of consolation if you’re waiting for a fix.
And, although not much use now, it can be worth holding off doing an Android update until things settle down, especially if it is a minor update.
Please do let us know if an app update fixes things for you.
Has anyone else been having probs?
Hi again, I’ve been busy trying to fix my problem. Reinstalling the apps has made no difference but I think I have narrowed the problem down a bit.
On my Windows 7 PC the tablet used to show up in the list of devices on the network but no longer does. Also when in WMP 11 bringing up a list of devices that could see the media used to include the Nexus but no longer does.
This makes me believe that the problem is more to do with the PC and the Nexus not being allowed to see each other. The Nexus can see the network because it uses the router to connect to the Internet without any problem.
I’m now in a dark corner and no light showing. Can someone help me please ????
