I guess the Kindle fire is out for us in the UK, but I was tempted by one of the many cheap generic tablets.
Quite liked this one.
Went for the Nexus in the end, right choice? Why did you pick the Google Tab.
I’ve heard those cheap ones can be unreliable and I don’t have time to deal with that kind of thing. The Nexus was the cheapest bestest tablet on the market when I looked… good timing. Of course, there will be something better along soon, there always is hehe
I guess the Kindle Fire HD is now the obvious alternative to consider, but it seems the Nexus is holding its own – I would still go for Google’s tablet before Amazon’s even though it cost more. But it’s worth a look and obviously many will be buying the Fire!
I bought a cheap Chinese tab and wasn’t impressed so waited for the N7 to come along, glad I did! There’s always something better around the corner but I’m quite happy with quad core, full Google apps integration and bloat free Jelly Bean, not to mention guaranteed future OS updates. In my opinion the best value tab unless you are happy with Amazon’s walled garden
I came very close to buying one of the cheap non-branded imports, but like you, glad I didn’t!
I bought the N7 because I’ve trusted Asus as a company for several years and up until recently, theirs and Samsung tablets have been too expensive. Willing to overlook the issue with the gps chip in the tablet they released though :)
I considered the Android slab market to be too fragmented, and was looking for another big company to release something in the UK before I bought it.
I bought mine because of all the good reviews on the internet and it came within my budget of £200 for the 16gb. I have opened a drop box account to share holiday photographs and short video clips.
