Please help me!!
My beloved nexus 7 has stopped working, I’m heartbroken :(
Yesterday when I went to google something a pop up kept on coming up saying “google plus has stopped working” or some other app has stopped working, I got an option to report or just ok ….I pressed ok most times and it would happen again in a few seconds. Twice I sent report….then I decided to close the device down & reboot that it may be only a glitch within. It would not shut down for longer that approx 30 seconds…it just reboots itself & then the word google comes on the screen for a few seconds then the coloured x and thats as far as it will go??? Whats gone wrong please can someone advise me???
Perhaps you may need to go into settings (if that is possible) and try a factory reset. If that doesn’t work then seek warranty assistance.
Hello Ellen, I have split your post into its own thread, I hope you find it OK. This seems to come up from time to time so it seems sensible to have a dedicated thread to cover topics that cover problems with starting up a Nexus 7.
So usually the first thing to try is making sure the Nexus 7 has a good charge, leave it charging for a few hours and then try switching it on, if a quick press has no luck then holding down power for 30 seconds seems to work for some people. However it sounds like, in this case, you are getting it to power up.
I take it that performing the factory reset doesn’t give any better results?
At this point it’s probably worth giving Google or your retailer a call and seeing if you can return it.
There are a number of technical guides over on the XDA forums, however proceed with caution as a wrong move could well “brick” your Nexus, void the warranty or something else unpleasant.
