I just ordered mine from Curry’s and I’m picking it up tomorrow. Can’t wait.
Few random questions:
Are there any development languages to use on the N7 – I’m a developer and often like to try out ideas. I don’t even mind what the language is Logo, Lisp, PHP in fact anything really.
Can they have multiple accounts?
I was going to get a case (this one) but wondered if I’d overlooked a better one. I was going to go for blue or brown.
What software is used to create this forum – I just quite like the layout.
Register as an android developer, cost about £25. Then you can download the android development kit that integrates into eclipse. That’s what I did. Would be interesting if you could get gcc as an alternative with one of those terminal emulators.
I started a page here on the topic:
Would love to hear what your up to.
Plus thanks for the heads up.
“Would love to hear what your up to.”
I write java programs in my spare time. Mostly board games (chess, draughts/checkers, othello, connect 4) but I also quite like writing the occasional shoot them up. I do other stuff as well but these are my Java projects.
I’d like to port the checkers program to android but obviously I’ll have to see how easy that is and work out what changes I need to make to cope with the differing screen sizes.
I currently don’t have any Android devices but I’m off to Brixton shortly to get my 32GB Nexus.
PS The new page looks very informative. Are there any small languages for “coding on the go” available for Android – I’d of thought something like Logo would be perfect for playing around with.
You don’t need an android device to develop code on. The SDK creates a virtual device on your computer that you can develop your code on
You’re quite right. My original post was to see if there were any languages I could use on the device itself but I then became a little sidetracked by android development.
