What format do music files have to be for Nexus 7 Can I download music off CDs?
Cannot someone reply please?
Here is what I do for CDs.
Start your Windows Media Player and load a CD. Set Rip Settings, Format to MP3 and click Rip CD.
I then plug in the Nexus 7 to my PC and just use Windows Explorer to copy/drag the CD folder (in Music, My Music) down to the Music folder on the Nexus 7. Start ‘Play Music’ and it should be there
You can copy within Windows Media Player using Sync but my PC doesn’t recognise the Nexus device sometimes.
Just convert to MP3 and upload, there is plenty of information on the web regarding CD ripping, obviously please ensure it is legal to do so in your circumstances.
I would then investigate google music:
Thanks Jez – as you probably realise, I am not technical. I will investigate “ripping
And thanks John. I will try that out.
No probs. All questions welcome!
Windows Media Player or iTunes will ‘rip’ CDs to MP3 files.
Post back if you struggle!
Here’s a link to ripping with iTunes. I don’t use iTunes in general but it seems to have access to a good album name / album art database so it does mean all my albums get named correctly. Win Media Player often doesn’t recognise my obscure taste in music!
