Rooting seems a popular passtime for Android owners but I don’t get wot the point of it is? And beofre you jump in I do understand wot its all about and that it enables you to install custom roms and a few other bits and bobs, but I don’t see a real killer reason to root my Nexus 7.
Just interested to no whether other owners have done it and why?
It seems like a necessity to Jailbreak an iPhone but I don’t get the same feeling with the droids. I can do everything I want to do but am thinking maybe I am missing something here!!
From what I understand rooting allows you to make your N7 do what it should do in any case.
I haven’t rooted mine. I didn’t see any reason to.
Molepox is most likely referring to the ability to access external media drives, and that’s a very good point. It’s not something I need though.
I looked into rooting for experimental purposes, it seems like an obvious thing to cover on nxtab, however I just couldn’t justify the time.
