I guess I am biased against iOS as I have never enjoyed using it but it sounds like a number of new features announced yesterday will make things a little better. I’m not going to rush out and buy an iPad just yet but at least it sounds like they are catching back up.
Im not one to get into fanboy arguments but the fact that they have to add all these “improvements” is surely an admission that the old system was deficient. The fanboys are happy to to celebrate the new features but never admit the system was weak in the first place…
Apparently iOS 8 has opened up the ability to share information between apps and you can even replace the keyboard! Oh, and did someone mention widgets? iOS is slowly turning into Android – perhaps it was inevitable that they would converge with the mainstream in the post jobs era?
Anyway, it was good to see that they are supporting the iPad 2 still as most of my iPad owning friends have this model.

There were some great articles after the conference which really detailed just how much Apple were copying from Android this time round. Of course Android has been “inspired” by iOS too so I wouldn’t complain. Let’s all just be honest about it though!
What really gets me is how the slobbering nepotistic tech blogs fall over themselves to claim Apple have invented new things that the likes of Google and Microsoft have been doing quite well for sometime. And people seem to keep buying it…
