My nexus is kept in a Port case. After a recent session of web browsing, listening to a podcast and writing, I noticed when the time came to power down how warm the back was getting. My battery manager didn’t sound any alarms and the only reason I noticed was that I took it out of its case for a good dusting.
Is it normal to get quite warm? Is the case insulating it and stopping the heat from disappating?
I would say that it is normal for any mobile device to get warm during long periods of intensive use. The chips inside these things can get quite hot if constantly active.
That said, I’ve not noticed my Nexus 7 getting noticeably hot, not like my Nexus 4 which will get very toasty after continual use. In fact my N4 can almost be uncomfortably hot at times. Surely a massive waste of energy but there you go.
