Had my N7 two days now and v pleased so far. Lots of good advice on this site, thanks a lot. I have a Kindle and Touch and I see these as completely different things. The KT is great for ebooks, huge battery life and readable in daylight.
However, the N7 is good for reading PDF documents. At work, we have quite a lot of magazines, chapters and scientific papers etc to read. The Kindle handles PDFs with great difficulty but they are much easier to read on the N7.
Still a tiny bit tricky at times with some pdfs on the N7 cos most PDFs are not designed for tablets. But if you have a document with a lot of visuals in it then on the Kindle it is almost impossible to follow the columns of text around and keep the font at a readable size, but with the N7 it is much easier to quickly drag pages around and pinch and zoom etc – so am using it for reading
Welcome to the forum, thanks for joining in!
It would be nice if there was some magic way PDFs would automatically fit into the page, but I guess they just don’t work like that – it’s kinda the point that they are a fixed design.
So yeah I guess the next best thing is to ensure we can move around and manipulate the doc easily. I still find it very frustrating if the doc is just a tad too big to fit in the page and you have to keep scrolling to read the last word of each row.
Hi Eddie. :-D
