Hi – just bought the 16gb Nexus 7 . I started to play the free Transformers movie which played fine for half an hour . I started to watch it again the next day but was met with a black screen and the message ‘not available in your country ‘ . I believe the movie is being streamed from google play rather than actually on my nexus . Have I done something or is there something wrong with my tablet ? . Any solutions anybody ?
I had a problem playing Transformers once when I was messing around with Google accounts. Have you done anything like this, is there more than one account registered? Can you try removing and adding your account?
Oh, and I came across someone else who was rooting their traffic through a VPN so it looked like they were in a different country to the one they were really in. Done anything like that? What happens if you go to the play store via a browser? https://play.google.com/movies
If I do this on my work PC it appears in German (Google thinks my work’s IP address is foreign)!
Where in the world are you, have you done anything like buy it in one place and register it somewhere else?
If in the UK, can you use iPlayer, does that recognise you as being a Brit?
I have the same problem :(
hi jez – thanks for helping. I am in Uk and only accessing via home network internet .
there is only one account registered . I am wary of removing it . Will I be able to reinstall the same account ?
I looked in vpn – thats not on .
I went to google /movies and it offered me uk films near me so I think it understands I am uk based . Also got the iplayer working fine .
I remember that the transformers movie stopped playing when i was trying to watch it in bed – the wifi signal is weak tin my bedroom and it cut out while i was watching the film . It was at this point that the nexus decided the film was ‘not available in my country ‘.
What about software updates, do you have the latest version of Google Play Movies and Android 4.1.2?
This is mentioned as solving the problem for someone else.
HI – thanks again for your help – sorry for not getting back sooner . I have managed to get it working albeit by accident .
When i went to my wife’s parents home i connected to their wifi and the film worked . When i got back home and tried on my wifi it played . So it must be something to do with my isp . At least i got to see the film – it was rubbish !!
lol, well thanks for reporting back, tis appreciated! Sorry you didn’t enjoy it – the film does seem to have a bad rep tbh.
