Hi, I’ve copied some PDF files over to my tablet but I don’t know how to access them? I’ve tried copying them to my downloads folder but I don’t see them in there, they just don’t seem to exist. However I can definitely see them when I connect to my PC using my USB cable.
What’s the best way to access PDF docs on my Nexus 7?
If you’ve got the kindle app you can read pdf files on that, but not sure why you can’t see them. Any idea what transfer mode you’re using?
the problem is really that Android 4.1.1 doesnt come with any kind of File Explorer app.
I’d recommend grabbing a free one from the Play Store, something like Astro File Manager or Linda Manager. These apps will allow you to explore your N7 file structure and to navigate to the specific location you have placed your pdf file. You can then simply select the file to open it in the native 4.1.1 pdf viewer (which is pretty good!) or open it with the Kindle app if you would rather (i prefer EzPdf which will search your device and pull in all pdf files for selection within the app).
Out of the File managers, i like Linda Manager because you can press and hold on the pdf and create a shortcut on your home screen, which you can then just touch to open the pdf.
I read alot of manuals in pdf format for my work and the N7 is very good for doing that, i have all the pds shortcuts in a folder on the homescreen.
Hope this helps
Hmmm.. used Astro and ES File Explorer. Out of the 2 I prefer ES, but I’ve not tried Linda explorer. Must give that a go…
I’ve installed Astro and wasn’t blown away by the interface, but I haven’t tried any others yet.
Sounds like a couple of options I need to try too…
