So, you’ve just invested a large part of your pay packet in a new Nexus tablet? You want to keep that beautiful shiny screen clear and scratch free, yet you know you’ll be slinging the tablet in your bag, and the kid’s will be chucking it about as soon as your back’s turned.
You’ll want to spend a few pounds on a screen protector.
I have had mixed experiences with screen protectors in the past, I have bought cheap ones that have been a pain to fix and seem to peel off in a short space of time. I’ve bought expensive ones which seem more durable but often have a more tacky finish.
ExpertShield recently contacted purenxs.com to see if I’d be interested in trying out some of the protectors on my Nexus 4 and my Nexus 7 and as I hadn’t fitted one on either of my devices I decided to accept their offer.
ExpertShield is a UK based company (that also sells direct to the US), you can read all about their origins over on their site here.
The Expert Shield
Application of the expert shield screen protectors is straight forward enough, there are detailed instructions over on their blog. As always you need to take care to eliminate bubbles and dust but this shouldn’t be a problem if you follow the advice carefully.
It really is worth spending the time over this as it will only annoy you if you mess it up. Patience and diligence will yield the best results!
Is it any good?
Disclaimer I was given some sample screen protectors to try out, so I may be biased, but I do think this is a decent product. And if you need more convincing, there are plenty of favourable reviews on Amazon.
I am pleased to say that I am happy with the results. The protector has remained fixed to my screen over the last couple of months thanks largely to a firm gel that resists warping and peeling. I can also report that it has not degraded the quality of the excellent Nexus screen!
If you are looking for a good quality cover and have had issues with cheap ones in the past then you’ll be pleased with the expert shield offering.
You can get them direct, or head over to Amazon. Here are the direct links:
