So, you’ve got yourself a new Nexus 6P, you’re going to be using it to stream music (probably from Google Play) and you need a decent pair of headphones or speakers? On this page we take a look at getting the best sound quality out of your Nexus phone.
The 6P does of course have a built in speaker and whilst these are better than they ever used to be you’re still not going to want to listen to high quality music through it.

Headphones seem to be a personal choice, I’ve always loved the in ear style but not everyone likes squishing an ear bud into their inner ear. The over ear headphone has become massively popular in the last few years with big name brands taking a large part of the market share. We’ve all seen the sports men and women wearing Beats as they walk into the arena.
Some of the classic names are known for making good quality products without the brand appeal, Sony for example has always made excellent earphones. So do explore beyond the big name brands.
Headphone aren’t always what you need, you might want to share your tunes with your mates. But please, don’t do this on the train.
Consider if you want passive speakers, which will draw power from your phone and will never sound that loud. Or active speakers that will need an additional power source but will allow you to crank up the volume and really annoy your neighbours.
