The Nexus 4 is able to output the contents of its screen right onto your TV thanks to some cool technology developed by Analogix. So to get Angry Birds and iPlayer up on the big screen all you need is a “Slimport” adapter (and a TV and an HDMI cable!).
The port even allows you to charge and output at the same time (although feedback suggests it doesn’t quite charge fast enough to keep going forever). I look forward to testing this out once mine arrives.

SlimPort HDMI Adapter

I do like the idea of this little accessory, for example I was recently on holiday and was thinking it would be great if we could get TV on demand up on to the big screen in the cottage we were stating at. We had WiFi provided but limited telly stations and we found ourselves kicking back one evening with nothing to watch!
More recently, since the second generation Nexus 7 (2013) now supports the SlimPort, I’ve been using it regularly in the living room to watch iPlayer and YouTube videos on the big screen.
The Slimport cable is easy to use, just attach it to the Micro USB port and plug in the HDMI cable from your TV.
Have you got one of these cables, what do you think of the picture quality? Let us know in the forum.More accessories for Nexus 4 Accessories
